{"answer":"**Short answer:** for a typical customer-support buyer, I would start with **Zendesk AI Agents** or **Intercom Fin**. Models mention Zendesk most often in one large AI-answer sample, with Intercom next; however, that is a measure of recommendation frequency—not proof that either will fit your workflows or budget. ([parse.gl](https://parse.gl/rankings/artificial-intelligence/ai-customer-support-chatbots))\n\n**My genuine ranking** — assuming you need a customer-facing support bot, reliable human handoff, knowledge-base grounding, and room to scale:\n\n1. **Zendesk AI Agents** — My strongest general recommendation because it combines a mature omnichannel help desk with configurable AI agents that can answer, route, and take authorized actions across service workflows. ([support.zendesk.com](https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/6970583409690-About-AI-agents?utm_source=openai))\n\n2. **Intercom Fin** — Choose this first instead if you are a SaaS or digital-product company that values polished conversational support, fast deployment, and excellent AI-to-human handoff more than deeply traditional ticketing operations. ([intercom.com](https://www.intercom.com/small-business))\n\n3. **Ada** — A strong enterprise chatbot-builder choice when you need a no-code platform, high-volume automation, and multilingual self-service rather than a full help-desk replacement. ([parse.gl](https://parse.gl/rankings/artificial-intelligence/ai-customer-support-chatbots))\n\n4. **Salesforce Agentforce Service** — The right answer for companies already deeply committed to Salesforce, because it can use CRM and case context across chat, messaging, phone, and self-service channels—but it is overkill for most teams starting fresh. ([help.salesforce.com](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service_cloud.htm&language=en_US&utm_source=openai))\n\n5. **Freshdesk with Freddy AI** — My value-oriented pick for growing support teams that need credible ticketing, routing, and automation without taking on the cost and operational complexity of Zendesk or Salesforce. ([learn.g2.com](https://learn.g2.com/best-conversational-support-platforms-for-customer-service))\n\n6. **Gorgias AI Agent** — The best specialist option for ecommerce brands, especially if support revolves around orders, returns, subscriptions, and social-commerce conversations rather than complex B2B cases. ([parse.gl](https://parse.gl/rankings/artificial-intelligence/ai-customer-support-chatbots))\n\n7. **HubSpot Service Hub** — Best when support must share customer context with sales and marketing in HubSpot; I would not choose it solely for the chatbot if you do not already rely on HubSpot CRM. ([learn.g2.com](https://learn.g2.com/best-conversational-support-platforms-for-customer-service))\n\n8. **Tidio Lyro** — A sensible small-business or lightweight ecommerce choice for getting website chat and AI answers live quickly, but it is less suitable than the options above for sophisticated

Based on cross-referencing multiple independent CX/software review sources (not just single vendor self-promotion), here's a genuine ranked shortlist of chatbot builders for customer support, roughly from strongest all-around recommendation to more niche/specialized picks: 1. **Intercom Fin** – The most consistently praised end-to-end AI agent across sources; it reasons over your full knowledge base and can actually take actions (refunds, order updates) across chat, email, and messaging channels, not just answer FAQs. 2. **Zendesk AI Agents** – Backed by a mature helpdesk with billions of pre-trained interactions, it's a strong pick if you already run (or plan to run) Zendesk as your support backbone, though pricing/overage billing draws real complaints. 3. **Ada** – One of the most established enterprise-grade, no-code conversational AI platforms with deep multilingual support (50+ languages) and strong containment/automation focus, best for large-scale deployments. 4. **Freshdesk (Freddy AI) / Freshchat** – A well-regarded, more affordable alternative to Zendesk with solid AI ticket triage and multichannel management, good for growing mid-size teams. 5. **Salesforce Agentforce** – The natural choice if your business is deeply invested in Salesforce Service Cloud, since it leverages your existing CRM data for personalization, though it's costly and requires enterprise commitment. 6. **Tidio (Lyro AI)** – The go-to for small businesses and ecommerce sites wanting an affordable, fast-to-deploy chatbot (powered by Claude) with a genuinely good free/low-cost entry point. 7. **Gorgias** – The top specialist choice specifically for Shopify/ecommerce brands, since it ties chatbot automation directly into order data for refunds and order edits. 8. **HubSpot Service Hub (Breeze)** – A sensible pick only if you're already a HubSpot CRM shop, since its main value is tying every chat directly to the contact record rather than best-in-class AI depth. 9. **Botpress** – The strongest developer-first/open option if you want full control over LLM choice, custom logic, and backend integrations rather than a locked-in SaaS experience. 10. **Zoho SalesIQ (ZoBot)** – A reasonable budget/hybrid option for existing Zoho Suite users, though it leans more rule-based than the true AI-agent platforms above. A caveat worth flagging: many "best chatbot" roundups online are published by vendors who rank their own product #1 (Tidio ranking Tidio first, eesel ranking eesel first, Wonderchat ranking itself first, etc.), so treat single-source "top pick" claims skeptically and weigh the cross-source consensus above more heavily. For most buyers, the real decision tree is: pick Fin or Zendesk if you want the most capable general-purpose AI agent, pick Ada if you're a large enterprise prioritizing containment at scale, pick Gorgias/Tidio if you're SMB/ecommerce, and pick Agentforce/HubSpot only if you're locked into that CRM ecosystem already.

This is the public record for Customer Support Chatbot Builders: the same questions, every model, every week. We ask each model the real questions buyers ask in this category and record which brands it recommends and in what order. A brand recommended at position i scores 100 × 0.85^(i−1) for that model (#1 = 100, #2 = 85, #3 = 72, …); unmentioned brands score 0.

Each model is ranked independently, so the columns disagree when the models disagree. The consensus score is the mean across the 3models recorded this week, and movement compares against last week’s close.

We report what the models say. We don’t editorialize, and brands can’t pay to change their position.

This ranking is live: the numbers come from recorded model answers captured through the official model APIs, scored with the published formula above. The raw answers are on this page under “The receipts.”

What we measure
We measure on the official model APIs: the same question, the same settings, the same week, for every brand. Web search is on, so the models can draw on what is live on the web. Nothing is personalized to a user, which is what makes the columns comparable.
What we don’t
The consumer apps are a different surface. What a person sees inside a chat app can carry memory, personalization, and live experiments on top of the same model, so its answers can differ from the API’s. We do not measure that surface yet. True browser listings, recorded from the consumer apps, arrive with WDIR Ranked, the Pro product. WDIR Ranked · Coming soon
