Gainers & Losers

Gainers and losers are the brands with the largest upward and downward rank movement at a close. They form the movers board of an AI visibility index.

Every close produces a movers board: which brands climbed the most positions and which fell. It is the fastest read on where AI opinion is shifting. A brand appearing on the gainers board across several categories at once usually signals a real change in its coverage or reputation in the sources models read.

What actually moves a brand between closes

Four things, roughly in order of how often they matter: new coverage in the sources models read, a change in what those sources say about an existing brand, a provider swapping the model behind a surface, and ordinary sampling variation, because models are not deterministic and one answer is a sample rather than a verdict.

That last one is why a single close is weak evidence. A one-place move in one category is inside the noise. The same brand climbing across several unrelated categories at the same close is not.

Reading a move honestly

Check whether the move survived the next close, whether it appears on more than one model, and whether the category itself changed shape — a board that gained five new brands will push everything down a place without any brand actually losing ground.

Every score here links to the recorded answer behind it, so a move can be checked against what the model actually said rather than taken on trust.
